Portrait of An Art Student

Portrait of an Art Student began with my interest in translating information into visual form, sparked by 'Observe, Collect, Draw!' by Giorgia Lupi and Stefanie Posavec. Wanting to work with collective experience rather than individual data, I created an anonymous ten-question survey for first-year fine arts students, gathering responses about their preferences, dreams, and experiences as artists. With guidance and feedback from my instructor, I transformed this data into a personal visual language, using rule-based systems to build a portrait that reflects the shared complexity, vulnerability, and curiosity of being an art student.
