Welcome!

Hi, I’m Lauren — an artist and educator based in Sarnia, Ontario, and the founder of Bright Little Studio. I love art so much I went back to school to study it, and am currently a second-year Fine Art student at Fanshawe College!

My personal practice is playful, expressive, and rooted in experimentation. I’m especially drawn to sketchbook work, where ideas can stay loose, intuitive, and a little unpredictable — a space where nothing has to be finished or perfect to be meaningful.

Working with kids is one of my favourite parts of what I do. I’m constantly inspired by how naturally they explore, take risks, and follow their curiosity. In the studio, I try to protect that energy — creating space for slowing down, trying things out, and building confidence through making.

Bright Little Studio grew out of this way of working. It’s a small backyard studio offering one-on-one and small group classes for kids, designed to support creative exploration in a calm, supportive environment. My teaching is shaped by a commitment to accessibility and inclusion, with a focus on creating spaces where neurodivergent children feel safe to create, experiment, and grow.

Alongside the studio, I work with children and youth through community art programming, including at the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery, and I’m always interested in local collaboration and creative community spaces.
